Dear mitochondrial researchers,
I’m Koji Yamano, a senior researcher at Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Medical Science and a Chair of International YoungMito 2018.
I am very pleased to invite you to the 1st International Mitochondria Meeting for Young Scientist (so called International YoungMito 2018), which will be held April 20 (Fri) – 22 (Sun) in Kyoto, Japan.
In this meeting, we are going to discuss many different aspects of mitochondrial biogenesis including organelle quality control, mt-UPR, mtDNA maintenance, dynamics, protein and lipid transfer, cristae organization, metabolism and signaling, diseases and so on. Furthermore, this meeting is organized by young mitochondrial researchers and oral and poster sessions are planned.
I believe that this meeting is an international platform that will allow the future leaders of mitochondrial research to share their latest research and advance collaborative research beyond the national boundaries.

Kyoto has been a central city of politics and culture in Japan for more than 1000 years.
